

4th Grade at ACS is a special time!
There are so many exciting events for our 4th graders and their families look forward to.
For all these events, there is a network of amazing people who help make it happen. There is also lot of information for families of 4th graders and for the Class Parents of 4th grade classes. We hope this page can provide some guidance along the way!

October
Memory Book (Yearbook) Submissions:
baby picture and "About Me"
The HSA 4th Grade Chairs are busy creating this year’s yearbook, which will feature baby photos of our 4th graders and an "About Me" section. 4th Grade Class Parents will reach out to collect these photos for submission to the HSA, ensuring they're included in the yearbook.* Each student will also be asked to contribute to their "About Me" section, sharing their favorite sport or hobby, a memorable moment from ACS, and more. Stay tuned!
*This is not mandatory but the kids really do love being included and seeing themselves and all their classmates as babies!
November
Memory Book (Yearbook) Submissions:
4th Grade Students Throughout the Years
The HSA 4th Grade Chairs will include candid photos of 4th Graders during their time at ACS, from PreK through 4th Grade. Photo submissions should be from ACS events, such as Halloween parades, Pumpkin Carving Nights, Fall Festivals, class parties, field trips, Field Day, Korean Culture Nights, School Concerts, Virtual Learning (Kindergarten), ACS Talent Shows, and ACS Global Feasts. 4th Grade Class Parents will reach out to collect these photos for the yearbook.

Memory Book (Yearbook) Shout-Out Submissions
Shout-outs are short, positive messages that families and friends can send to students in the memory book (yearbook). The HSA 4th Grade Chairs will coordinate with families on how to send payment along with the message(s) you'd like printed in the memory book.
April
Lawn sign orders
ACS graduates feel such pride to see their names displayed on lawn signs as part of the graduating class. The HSA 4th Grade Chairs will be coordinating orders for lawn signs. Make sure you place your orders!

March
4th Grade t-shirt orders
All 4th grade students will receive one free "Class of 2025" t-shirt with all 4th grade student names printed (coordinated and sponsored by the HSA)!
Families of 4th graders will fill out a t-shirt size request form, due by the end of March.
May
4th Grade t-shirt distribution
All 4th grade students will receive one free "Class of 2025" t-shirt with all 4th grade student names printed (coordinated and sponsored by the HSA)!
4th Grade Class parents will coordinate with the HSA 4th Grade Chairs to deliver the t-shirts to the classrooms.
Early June
Memory Book (Yearbook) distribution
All 4th grade students will receive one free personalized copy of the yearbook (coordinated and sponsored by the HSA)! Additional yearbooks will be available for purchase for all other students.
4th Grade Class Parents will be asked to help the HSA sort and deliver the yearbooks to the students in their classrooms.
June (Date TBD)
4th Grade Graduation Party
Each year, 4th Grade Class Parents plan a big celebration for the 4th graders* – with the HSA 4th Grade Chairs helping to coordinate the effort. Money collected from families of 4th graders attending the party help cover the cost of food, drinks, decorations, swag gift, fees, etc.
The HSA 4th Grade Chair secures the date and location of the party months in advance.
* This is a drop-off only party; students will be supervised by a committee comprised of some HSA 4th Grade Parents and 4th Grade Class Parents.
June (last day of school)
4th Grade Clap Out & Graduation Ceremony
4th Graders walk through the halls of ACS one last time. Teachers and students of lower grades line the halls clapping their hands in honor of this milestone; saying their goodbyes and well wishes. Families of 4th grade students will be waiting in a designated reception area to receive the graduates with a final celebration.

A note on funding the reception: the 4th grade class parent committee will reach out to 3rd grade families to collect donations. In return, those families will be treated to a clap out celebration the following year!
